Motorhome catches fire on Interstate 8

UPDATE: Interstate 8 westbound near milepost 7 is now open following a motorhome fire Friday. According to the Department of Public Safety the driver of the RV noticed smoke coming from the motorhome and pulled over. That’s when the RV caught fire. Everyone was able to safely evacuate. No word yet on what caused the fire.

Interstate 8 westbound by milepost seven is temporarily closed after a motorhome caught fire Friday. Firefighters did manage to put the fire out but they’re still on the scene.

According to DPS the incident was reported at about 9:41 a.m. There is still no word on when that stretch of Interstate 8 will open up.
