Fire northside of the Colorado River
A fire north of the Colorado River shut down temporary access to Interstate 8 ramp Wednesday afternoon.
California officials were notified about an active brush fire coming towards the Interstate 8 ramp off the 4th Avenue bridge. Yuma Fire Department was called shortly after to assist California authorities to maintain the fire from spreading. This is the second fire we’ve reported in the same are in the month of May this year. As of right now there are no connections in between both fires, but Bureau of Land Management is investigating the fire and the cause of it.
