Fire Burning Along U.S. Mexico Border

UPDATE – 7 P.M. The Bureau of Land Management said a fire in Yuma County and Mexico has burned 50 acres.

BLM said the fire started around noon. No word yet on what caused the fire.

ORIGINAL ARTICLE: A fire is burning near Algodones, Baja California, Mexico. on both sides of the U.S. – Mexico border.

Rural/Metro said the structure fire crossed over into the U.S. side.

Officials say the fire is expected to last throughout the night. Firefighters with Rural/Metro are battling the blaze near Levee Road and County 9 1/2 E Street.

No word yet on how many acres have been burned so far or what caused the fire.
