Sprouts brings healthy options and jobs to community

Sprouts will officially open for business on July 26, 2017, bringing healthy food options and 100 new jobs to the Yuma community.

Sprouts officials said it will help meet the growing local demand for fresh, natural and organic foods in there 30,000-square-foot store. In the meantime, the store is hiring more than 100 full and part-time workers who will support Sprouts’ “healthy living for less” approach to grocery shopping.

A long-time resident said this new business will help bring Yuma’s economy up.

“The more people that have jobs the less that anyone is going to have to deal with when it comes to. Well should we say, states help, so forth like that it may lower a lot of our problems that we may have especially the debts and things that we have dealing with that. With a lot of people on states help. The more people that have the jobs, the less we have to worry about in that particular aspect,” says Jackie Nichols.

In 2016, Sprouts’ team members saved more than $9 million through store discounts and received $150,000 in scholarships.
