Topic of the Day: Colorado Teacher Suspended

A Colorado teacher is on time-out after his students posted Snapchats of their class hitting piñatas during a Cinco De May celebration. But, they weren’t just any piñatas, one in particular had the face of the Commander in Chief President Donald J. Trump on it.
Lesly Hollywood a parent of one of the students was surprised when she received a snap from her child which at the time was participating in the party with their Spanish class. Hollywood then contacted Roosevelt High School in Johnstown, Colorado and filed a complaint.
According to Hollywood she felt that encouraging students to deface the president’s image was disrespectful and told reporters “I wouldn’t have cared if it was Obama’s face on that piñata, or if it had been Hillary Clinton’s face,” Hollywood said. “It doesn’t matter. This is not how we should be teaching our children politics in this country.”
The teacher has been placed on administrative leave and the school district has launched a full investigation into the incident.
