Two locals arrested following drug bust

Two people were arrested after law enforcement served as search warrant at a home in Yuma that lead to the discovery of drugs.

The Yuma County Sheriff’s Office said Wednesday at 4:37 p.m. law enforcement served a narcotics search warrant at a residence in the 11400 block of S. Avenue 9E in Yuma.

Deputies said, with the assistance of YCSO K-9 “Jax”, the search led to the discovery of approximately 28 grams of marijuana, 1.5 grams of cocaine, nine narcotic pills, and paraphernalia consistent with street sales. Numerous items of gang indicia were discovered as well as four firearms. One of the firearms was discovered to have been reported stolen to the Yuma Police Department.

YCSO said the suspect of the search warrant, Thomas Ford, 21, of Yuma, was arrested and booked into the Yuma County Detention Center for promoting a criminal street gang, possession of stolen property, felony criminal damage, possession of marijuana, possession of marijuana for sale, possession of a narcotic drug, possession of a weapon during a drug offense, and possession of drug paraphernalia. According to court records, Ford is being held on $30,000 bond.

Another person at the residence, Jenna Clinkenbeard, 19, of Yuma, was also arrested for aggravated assault on law enforcement officers. According to court records she was released on her own recognizance.
