13 On Your Side wants to know your thoughts:

It was an unforeseen backlash as millions responded to the actions of United Airlines staff as they forcibly removed a passenger to make room for United employees. The video of the assault went viral and as fast as it spread sales for the airline began to fall.

Millions opted to use other airlines regardless of cost and it’s forced the travel giant to make drastic changes in hopes of winning back their customers. United Airlines CEO Oscar Munoz announced that several changes are in the works to prevent incidents like this in the future.

Among the changes, is the use of law enforcement along with raising the compensation for those asked to take later flights in order to allow United staff to fly in their place. The incident has peaked the interest of the Senate Commerce Committee who has asked for United to explain just what led to the altercation.

In a letter Munoz explained that United Airline staff were set to fly on another flight, but their flight was delayed. According to Munoz the decision was made to place them on the overbooked flight which led to the altercation.
