Golf balls fell from the sky on Saturday to help families fight cancer.

A helicopter dropped 300 golf balls from the sky at the 2 nd Annual Halos and Tiaras Golf Tournament. The ball that fell nearest to the hole won $10,000 dollars.

The event helped families with children fighting cancer. Organizers said they raised over $35,000 dollars in the Saturday event at Barbara Worth Country Club in Holtville.

Imperial Valley resident Oscar Delgado is the lucky owner of golf ball number 129 that fell just over a foot near the hole.

Organizer and foundation co-founder Marcy Bingham said, “It’s a tremendous help to be able to help the families and to see them struggling and suffering and see their child going through this. It’s heartbreaking. But it gives us a little bit of peace and comfort to know that we’re helping them just a small little percentage with whatever their needs are.”

The helicopter and pilot were donated by John Reed of Custom Ag.
