Scammers pretend to be IRS and APS, demand thousands in payment
Law enforcement says it starts with a phone call–sometimes an email–from someone saying they’re a representative from the IRS, electricity company APS, or even Microsoft. Authorities say these ‘so-called representatives’ are actually scammers.
