Where to watch WTI in action in Yuma

The U.S. Marine Corps Weapons and Tactics Instructor Course will be taking place at Kiwanis Park in Yuma Friday afternoon.

USMC officials say the purpose of the course is to provide WTI students with realistic training that is consistent with a mission they may execute in real-world operations.

There will be five aircraft involved in the Yuma operation. They will be running operations from 4 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.

Landing sites in Yuma are at Kiwanis Park, Trinity Christian Center, Crane Middle School, Centennial Middle School and Yuma Regional Medical Center.

The humanitarian assistance training will be comprised of three phases.

Military Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fightings, Yuma police, military police and the Site Commander will be on site.

No ordnance will be carried on any of the aircraft or personnel. The training will not interfere with any emergencies at YRMC.

Spectators are welcome, but are asked to follow instructions and or directions of local authorities and exercise personnel for their own safety.
