Driver crashes into local bakery

A vehicle slammed into the Goldsboro Bakery in the Foothills Wednesday morning. The Yuma County Sheriff’s Office said deputies responded to the incident at approximately 11:20 a.m.

The initial investigation revealed that a grey 2008 Honda Odyssey was conducting a U-Turn in the business parking lot when the driver lost control of the vehicle and collided into the building.

The driver of the Honda Odyssey, Jeannine Kaczmarek, 83, of Yuma, was evaluated on scene and refused medical attention.

No one at the business was injured as a result of the collision. The Yuma County Building Inspector responded to the scene to assess the damage to the building.

Alcohol does not appear to be a contributing factor in the collision.
The cause of the collision is still under investigation. Anyone with information regarding this case, please contact the Yuma County Sheriff’s Office at (928) 783-4427 or 78-CRIME to remain anonymous. You can also visit our website at www.yumacountysheriff.org to submit an anonymous tip.
