Fatal officer-involved shooting in Brawley
Police officers shot and killed a suicidal man during a call.
Officers say they were called out after someone reported a suicidal man in the area of the 500 block N. Imperial Avenue around 7:20 a.m.
When officers got there, the man was allegedly holding a knife and refusing to comply with their orders and posing a threat.
The man was shot by officers, according to the press release issued by the Brawley Police Department on Monday.
The man was taken to Pioneers Memorial Hospital where he later died from his injuries.
The shooting is being investigated by the Imperial County District Attorney’s Office.
