Border Patrol agent shoots undocumented immigrant

A U.S. Border Patrol agent shot an undocumented immigrant in the leg after a scuffle between the two.

According to a press release issued by border patrol, t he incident happened Friday night west of Douglas, Arizona.

The agent was called out to two men entering the country illegally. When agent confronted the men one of them resisted arrested and was able to get the collapsible baton from the agent. The agent shot the man in the upper part of his left leg.

The man was taken to a local hospital and is in stable condition.

The other man tried fleeing from border patrol but agents were able to find him soon after and arrest him.

The agent did not suffer any injuries but was placed on administrative leave.

The FBI, Customs and Border Protection Officer of Professional Responsibility and the Cochise County Sheriff’s Department are investigating the incident.
