$225K bail for suspected car thief

A Yuma judge set a bail totaling more than $225,000 for alleged compulsive car thief, D’Andre Jermain Norman, 19, on Tuesday afternoon.

“The county attorney has filed a formal complaint against you on count one, unlawful flight, from a pursuing law-enforcement vehicle… The court will set a bond for $200,000,” said Judge Juan M. Guerrero of the Yuma Justice Court Precinct 1.

Another $25,000 bail was also set for five additional cases against Norman, at $5000 per case. In addition, Norman was also issued another $2000 bail for an arrest warrant out of Maricopa County.

Norman’s next hearing is scheduled for December 8th for the five cases against him. On December 16th, he will answer to the charges for his latest arrest, on Monday evening. The judge also set a court hearing for January 6th for Norman’s arrest warrant from Maricopa County.

Police say Norman has stolen at least six vehicles since being released from jail on November 9th.

Norman was arrested on Monday evening in Yuma, near Maple Avenue and 18th Street.
