Three Days of Thanksgiving: Day 1

The Crossroads Mission’s Three Days of Thanksgiving is no easy undertaking, each year donations are gathered, volunteers are summoned and hundreds are then fed.

Tuesday calls for the mission’s Mexican dish which is made up of enchiladas, Spanish rice, pinto beans and a side salad; on Wednesday they’ll be serving a roast beef dinner and come Thursday a traditional Thanksgiving feast will be their dish.

More than 600 meals were delivered to those unable to travel, like veterans and the disabled. Hundreds more visited the mission and enjoyed a generous portioned meal while visiting with others and enjoying some live entertainment.

This morning two bus loads of students from the Gowan Science Academy visited the mission helping them serve and interact with guests; volunteers are always welcome and those looking to donate their time can simply visit the mission.

The mission is also accepting food and any monetary donations.
