Ocotillo wind turbine falls

Ocotillo Wind said one of its turbines fell Monday. Officials issued a statement on their website, saying that the turbine fell within the designated setback zone.

They said no one was injured during the incident.

Officials said they are working closely with the turbine manufacturer, Siemens, to identify the root cause of the failure. A full investigation is also underway.

Ocotillo Wind said its first priority is the safety of employees, contractors, neighbors and the environment. They said they are taking this issue very seriously and will communicate more information as it becomes available.
