Two men arrested on drug charges
The Yuma County Sheriff’s Offices said two men are behind bars after officers found meth, guns and drug paraphernalia at a house in the 2700 Block of S. Ave. 2 1/2E in Yuma.
Officers said investigators with the Yuma County Narcotics Task Force (YCNTF) served the search warrant Monday at approximately 8:40 a.m.
They said with the assistance of YCSO K-9 “Jax”, the search led to the discovery of approximately 3.73 ounces of methamphetamine (with an approximate street value of $2,116), two handguns, and paraphernalia consistent with street sales. One of the handguns located at the residence was determined to be stolen from a previous case reported to the Yuma County Sheriff’s Office.
The suspect of the search warrant, Nicholas Joel Marshall, 34, of Yuma, was arrested and booked into the Yuma County Detention Center for possession of a dangerous drug for sale, possession of dangerous drugs, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a weapon by a prohibited possessor, possession of a deadly weapon during a drug offense and fortification of a residence. The suspect was also arrested and booked for an existing parole violation warrant for forgery.
Andres Jose Cazares, 33, of Yuma, was also contacted at the residence and was arrested and booked into the Yuma County Detention Center for possession of a dangerous drug and three outstanding warrants for his arrest.
