Yuma: Homeowner wakes up to man climbing through window
Police are looking for a man suspected of breaking into a Yuma home.
According to the Yuma Police Department, a homeowner on the 2300 block of Walnut Avenue woke up early Wednesday morning to a loud noise.
“When they went to see what happened, they heard noise in the bathroom. The homeowner then went back, retrieved a weapon and went back to the bathroom. When they opened the bathroom door, they saw an unidentified male subject half way inside the bathroom window,” said Lori Franklin, of the Yuma Police Department.
Police say the homeowner yelled at the man telling him to leave, and when he didn’t the homeowner fired his gun twice.
“The subject then backed out of the window and took off in an unknown direction,” said Franklin.
Police aren’t releasing information as to whether the man was injured but they think he fled on foot.
Police say the homeowner and his wife weren’t hurt and nothing appears to have been stolen.
The suspect is described as a Hispanic male in his 30’s with a buzzed haircut and clean shaven.
