EC Border Patrol captures two sex offenders
CALEXICO, Calif. (KYMA, KSWT, KECY)- Two sex offenders were arrested over the weekend after illegally entering the U.S., according to the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP).
CBP said agents arrested a man suspected of illegally entering the U.S. and transported him to the El Centro station immigration for criminal, history screening.
After agents checked his record, the man was identified as Carlos Alberto Garcia, a 47-year-old Mexican national. Records revealed Garcia was convicted on May 14, 2008, for child molestation in Los Angeles. Garcia received three years probation and 365 days in jail for his crimes.
Agents said Garcia is being held in federal custody pending further criminal prosecution.
That same day El Centro Border Patrol agents arrested a man after being suspected of entering the U.S., illegally and was transported to the station for immigration and criminal history.
CBP said records revealed the man as Ricardo Saucedo-Hernandez, a 51-year old Mexican national. Saucedo's record also showed he was convicted on April 16, 2003, for child molestation in Perris. Saucedo received a fine and 120 days in jail for his crimes.
According to agents, Saucedo is being held in federal custody pending further criminal prosecution.
