San Luis Police Lieutenant Victor Figueroa attended the President’s Task Force on 21st Century Policing held this week at the White House, according to the City of San Luis.

Lt. Figueroa was among several law enforcement executives that were invited from across the nation to participate and attend this briefing on Wednesday. The briefing was held by members of President Barack Obama’s staff who facilitated the briefing, which was held inside the White House.

The President’s Task Force was launched in 2014 to study approaches that can be used to strengthen law enforcement and community relationships. The task force was created to identify best practices and offers recommendations on how law enforcement can promote effective crime reduction while at the same time build public trust.
