Promoting a positive relationship between youth and officers

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KSWT, KECY) - Not your average sight at the Yuma Palms center. Today, local law enforcement took part in "Shop With a Child," reaching out to local kids.

As with every year around Christmas, the Elks Lodge reached out to local firefighters and police officers to take part in their "Shop With a Child" event.

Elks lodge gave each child 125 dollars for each child to spend on clothes and shoes.

This year Rural Metro Fire department showed up with about 13 firefighters and EMS personnel to help the kids with their winter shopping.

The event took place at JC Penney early this morning.
