One of the key contributors to the Arizona Western College women's soccer program for the past 2 seasons is now moving on to greener pastures.

Lady Matadors star midfielder Vera Asare has made her 4-year collegiate decision official on Thursday, signing her letter of intent with Oakland University out of Auburn Hills, Michigan.

The Ghana native has made her presence known from the start of her AWC career, as she scored 8 goals and had 10 assists during the 2018 season.

In this past season alone, she showed scoring improvement as Asare put in 11 goals and 7 assists overall.

What shouldn't be overlooked is her contribution to the Lady Matadors having their 2 best seasons to date with her in the line-up; including AWC's 1st appearance in the NJCAA Tournament in 2018.

Asare strongly believes she is a good fit for Oakland University and has expressed her gratitude for receiving a full-ride scholarship to this 4-year institution.
