Two men sentenced to prison for cross-country distribution of cocaine and heroin
Two men are sentenced to 3 years in prison followed by 3 years of parole after distributing cocaine and heroin from Tucson in May 2018.
A press release reported that in May 2018, Randolph Guillermo Ramirez-Contreras, 25, traveled from Tucson to meet with Mario Mauricio Campos-Balderas , 28, a Los Angeles resident, with the intention of delivering narcotics into the cab of a tractor-trailer.
Reports said the two men picked up approximately 65 kilograms of cocaine and 7 kilograms of heroin loading it into a trailer with the intention of delivering it to Georgia and New Jersey.
On May 26, 2018, deputies from the Greene County Sheriff’s Office located the men and the tractor-trailer parked at a truck stop in Greensboro, Georgia and seized the narcotics before completing any deliveries.
According to the press release, the investigation, in this case, was conducted by the Drug Enforcement Administration, with assistance from the Greene County Sherriff’s Office. The prosecution was handled by Michael R. Lizano and Patrick T. Barry, Assistant U.S. Attorneys, District of Arizona, Tucson.
