YFD firefighters return home after battling California fires

Yuma firefighters who were recently deployed to help with the Kincade Fire in Sonoma, Calif., have safely returned home Wednesday.

The Yuma Fire Department (YFD) said that on October 23, firefighters left for their first assignment to Riverside, Calif.

On October 26, their Task Force was released from Beaumont and reassigned to the “Kincade Fire” in Sonoma County.

After arriving, firefighters were assigned to structure protection duties, working through the night.

YFD said during the rest of their assignment to the fire, they worked rotating 24-hour shifts protecting homes and dealing with spot fires in the areas.

The YFD personnel who assisted in battling the wildfires are Fire Captain Don Humphrey, Fire Engineer Jesse Townley, Firefighter Alan Ibarra, and Firefighter Adrian Aust.
