Arizona’s unemployment rate drops again

Arizona’s unemployment rate dropped again in September.

The state Office of Economic Opportunity says the seasonally-adjusted jobless rate for September was 4.5 percent. That’s down from 5 percent in August. It’s also a decline from September 2018, when 4.9 percent of Arizonans were out of work.

Economists say the state added 65,000 jobs last month, most of them in the Phoenix area.

The construction and bioscience healthcare industries saw the most job growth.
