Car crash leaves two people in the hospital

Two people are in the hospital after a crash shutdown the intersection near 24th Street and Pacific Avenue Wednesday evening.

Investigators discovered the driver of a 2000 Toyota Camry was heading north, trying to make a left-hand turn when it collided with a 2004 Toyota 4Runner , according to YPD .

The driver, who was not wearing a seatbelt, and the passenger in the Camry were taken to the hospital with serious injuries, according to officers.

Officers said alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash.
