Visit Yuma releases coloring book featuring desert southwest landmarks

Regardless of whether your favorite landmark is Telegraph Pass or the Yuma Territorial Prison, you can now take some of Yuma’s most iconic landmarks home with you. The Visitor’s Information Center in Yuma released ” Shades of Yuma, ” the city’s first-ever coloring book, last week.

“I had a lot of fun helping with this project, ” said artist Lia Littlewood , who designed the cover of the book. ” It’s a time capsule for Yuma and have people check out these landmarks and give them a chance to put their hand print on them.”

The illustrations are all drawn by six talented local artists: Lia Littlewood , Sergio Arroyo, Rachelle Blevins, Rachel Negron , Lorie Mott, Louise Aceves and John Benz. Some other destinations you’ll find are the Colorado River Crossing Balloon Festival, Ocean-to-Ocean Bridge and the Imperial Sand Dunes.

The coloring book is a great way to showcase the city’s history, scenery and culture, and increase civic pride.

Each book is $6.65 and you can pick up your very own in person at the Visitor’s Information Center or at yumaninterest.com.
