Rain expected in Yuma as Phoenix braces for monsoon storms

The National Weather Service is forecasting light rain for the Yuma area beginning at 1:00 p.m. Monday.

There will be a 40% chance of precipitation in Yuma County and parts of Imperial Valley beginning at 1:00 p.m. Monday and lasting for a couple of hours.

Humidity will range from 23% to 25% throughout the day.

Meanwhile, the National Weather Service’s forecast for this week projects a 20% chance of showers and thunderstorms Monday night, rising to a 30% chance Tuesday night in the Phoenix area.

Similar predictions are set for Wednesday night and through the weekend.

Monsoon activity in Phoenix will continue Tuesday and through the middle of the week as moisture increases through the middle of the week as moisture increases across the region.

In a tweet, NWS stated, ” For now, blowing dust and strong gusty winds are the most likely impacts with the best chances for dust on Monday evening and again on Tuesday evening. ”
