8th Annual Back to School Rodeo prepare students for the new school year

The 8th Annual Back to School Rodeo took place Saturday morning at the Yuma Civic Center.

The city partnered with local businesses that came together to help give away 14 hundred backpacks stuffed full of school supplies .

Carrie Ring, City of Yuma marketing specialist, said the event takes place every year to give students the essentials they need to start the school year off on the right foot.

” We consider this the one-stop shop for parents and children to get everything they need to head back to school this year. So we have vision screenings, dental screenings, back and spine screenings. As well as all of the different information and resources that you need to head back to school. ” says Carrie.

Ring said it was a community filled event with local artists and dancers who performed for the audience.
