Day 3 coverage from San Diego Comic-Con International
Endless amounts of fans continue to make their way into the San Diego convention center waiting to see what Comic-Con has to offer.
Jay Bejot , a Yuma comic book vendor remembered when the convention was more about the comics and less about movies and entertainment.
Bejot said, ” When I started, it was more of a…a lot smaller obviously. And just the crowd has been bigger. And it’s more of a pop culture event than a comic con when it started. ”
Free events near the convention are available to the public. Including a pinball lounge that’s offers a one of a kind of fun experience.
Stein Pinball Director of Marketing, Zach Sharpe said about the uniqueness of a pinball machine, ” Something that can’t be replicated. You know with video games you memorize the pattern and you beat it. But the pinball machine you can never beat it. You can always get a better score, you can compete. ”
John Connor, who’s enjoying the pinball lounge with his daughter said it’s about sharing a nostalgic memory with her.
Connor said, ” When I was a kid I remember playing them. You know it’s good to see that there’s still a thing I guess. I don’t know. With everything being digitalized and everything. It’s nice to come here and actually bounce a pinball around. ”
Other gaming brands such as Nintendo, are offering fans a chance to play the newest games that haven’t been released yet.
Corey Olcsvary , of Nintendo of America said ” Some games aren’t even out yet. So Luigi’s Mansion 3 comes out this Halloween. Great chance to get your hands on first. Folks play three games here get to get a free prize from the table as well. But really just having a great time. ”
And some of the best parts about the con is about dressing up as your favorite character.
Jah’lon Escudero , a cosplayer said ” Whether you’re just buying something from the store or you just handmake it yourself. It’s really all just about finding your own character. You know that what comes all with expression. It’s really just about finding out who you really are. ”
