Drunk driver crashes car into Yuma church

A driver crashed into a Yuma church Friday morning who is suspected to have been under the influence of alcohol.

Yuma police said officers responded to the 500 block of West 12th Street for reports of a vehicle collision. Officers arrived at the scene and found a Lincoln passenger car that had collided into the church.

Residents were inside of the church when the crash happened but there were no reported injuries, according to police.

The driver, 40-year-old Fernando Yslas , was booked into the Yuma County Detention Center on multiple charges.

YPD said that alcohol appeared to be a factor in the crash.
