San Luis appoints new assistant fire chief

Enrique Lopez was appointed as the assistant fire chief of the San Luis Fire Department earlier this month.

Lopez started his career with the San Luis Fire Department in 2005 as a hazardous material technician. In 2009, he became a paramedic and for the past eight-and-a-half years, he served as the department’s fire captain.

In 2017, he completed the Arizona Fire Chief’s Association Regional Battalion Chief Academy.

“I am very excited for this new opportunity in serving our community,” Lopez said. “I will do my best to be a good asset for the San Luis Fire Department and our community,”

Fire Chief Ramirez also spoke about the recent appointment of Assistant Fire Chief Lopez.

Fire Chief Angel Ramirez added, “Assistant Fire Chief Lopez has been an excellent employee and brings a wealth of knowledge to the position.” ” He is always looking out for the well-being of his staff and people in the community, he will do an excellent job as the new Assistant Fire Chief. ”
