How traffickers are luring victims in Yuma County

Sex trafficking is a billion dollar industry that’s occurring throughout the streets of Yuma County targeting the youth, said the San Luis Police Department ( SLPD ).

CEO and Executive Director Estrella Fitch, with The Healing Journey, said perpetrators are recruiting young kids ages 12 and 13 years old through Snapchat , Instagram, and even local schools.

” Your schools, your juvenile system, your group homes, kids that are not fully accepted will be recruited by traffickers, ” said Fitch.
