One dead after fatal collision in Holtville
One man is dead following a two-vehicle collision involving a pickup truck and a semi-truck off of Holt and Norrish Road in Holtville.
Authorities are still trying to determine how the collision happened but believe it was a possible violation of a right of way with a stop sign.
An official from California Highway Patrol said the pickup truck ended up in a canal where bystanders and an off-duty sheriff’s officer dove in to try to save the driver but were unsuccessful.
Authorities will wait for a coroner’s report for a cause of death.
