Cardboard "fans" get ready for opening day

Thursday was opening day for Major League Baseball.

Fans could not attend games in person this year due to COVID-19. But, that did not mean Dodger Stadium was empty.

About 45-hundred cardboard cutouts were decorated in the stands in at Chavez Ravine.

They're a way for fans to support the team … And charity. Proceeds from the sale of the cutouts are going to the Dodgers Foundation.

So far -- that's amounted to $800 thousand dollars.

The team also played music and crowd sound during the game … To make it more realistic.

The Dodgers hosted the San Francisco Giants Thursday night where they took the 8-1 win at home.
