ECPD urges safe driving after officer strikes boulder

EL CENTRO, Calif. (KYMA, KSWT, KECY)-Two drivers on different occasions struck a landscape boulder within the newly remodeled Donut Avenue's parking lot in El Centro Tuesday.

The El Centro Police Department (ECPD) said officers responded to Donut Avenue on 230 South 4th Street regarding property damage collisions.

ECPD said the second driver was a police officer who also happened to hit the landscape boulder within the same hour of the first incident.

ECPD said the officer involved in the collision is under investigation.

They would like to remind the community to drive safely and be aware of your surroundings.
