Four new deaths in San Luis Rio Colorado
Total deaths now at 27
SAN LUIS RIO COLORADO, Sonora (KYMA, KECY) - The Sonoran Secretary of Health confirmed 66 new cases in statewide Friday night, totaling 856 cases total.
Of these new cases, one pertains to San Luis Rio Colorado (SLRC). Health Officials also confirmed four new deaths in the city.
Sonora's Secretary of Health, Enrique Clausen Iberri provided more information on SLRC's latest deaths:
The first was a 67-year-old male resident of SLRC. Iberri says his prior health conditions included obesity, high blood tension and more. He first experienced symptoms on April 8. Iberri says his condition continued to worsen and he died this week.
The second was a 33 year-old male who suffered from obesity and high blood pressure. He first experienced symptoms on May 2 and tested positive on May 10. He passed away on Thursday.
The third death was a 45-year-old male with no known prior health conditions, according to Iberri. He first experienced symptoms on April 14. He was hospitalized at a SLRC hospital and he died on April 20. Iberri says his death had just been reported this week.
The fourth SLRC death was a 49 year-old male who's work required high contact with hospital stretchers, Iberri reported. He first experienced symptoms on May 5 and was hospitalized on May 8. The patient was transported to a Mexicali hospital where he passed away on the same day.
Officials confirmed he tested positive for COVID-19 Friday.
