Nearly 20 new cases of coronavirus in Imperial County

Health officials confirm one additional death

EL CENTRO, Calif. (KYMA, KECY) - The Imperial County Public Health Department (ICPHD) confirmed 19 new cases of coronavirus. That brings the countywide total to 419.

Health officials also announced the death of one more patient. So far the illness has killed ten Valley residents. They're releasing no personal details on the latest victim of the virus. Nor are they saying anything about the newest patients.

On a positive note, the county is making progress with coronavirus testing. Healthcare workers have now tested nearly 2,900 people. In addition, nearly 200 people have now recovered from the illness.
