Navy SEAL training resumes in the wake of coronavirus
Recruits and trainers practice new protocols in San Diego
SAN DIEGO, Calif. (KYMA, KECY) - Navy SEAL recruits and their instructors returned to training amid new protocols designed to curb the spread of coronavirus.
All recruits and trainers are now being tested for the illness. Capt. Bart Randall says everyone in the first phase of training will be tested to determine if anyone is infected, but asymptomatic.
In addition, instructors now wear masks. Another distinct change, they also shout their commands into megaphones instead of directly into recruits' faces.
The Navy paused SEAL training back in mid-March as a precaution. About 170 recruits and their instructors recently resumed the program.
