More Asian murder hornet spotted in the U.S.

First time the insect was spotted in the U.S. and it is known for killing honeybees and humans.

(FOX News)- A hornet species which preys on honeybees and humans has been spotted in the U.S. for the first time.

A small number of Asian giant hornets have been seen in the pacific northwest.

The hornet species kills honeybees, but, can also be deadly to humans.

The Washington State Department of Agriculture released a photo of the now nicknamed, "murder hornet" on social media, but, the agency said the danger to the average person is low at this time.

They have reportedly ramped up efforts to contain the spread of the hornets, which attack honeybees in the early summer.

People are asked to report any sightings of the Asian hornets to Washington State Agriculture officials.
