Yuma County coronavirus cases surpass 100
Cases expected to rise amid 'Arizona Testing Blitz' and YRMC testing
YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - There are now 101 confirmed coronavirus (COVID-19) cases in Yuma County.
This is according to the Yuma County Health District (YCHD), who today confirmed seven new cases of the virus.
Numbers indicate the new patients include four women, and three men. 17 patients are currently hospitalized — an increase of 2 since yesterday.
Today marked the first day of Arizona's "Testing Blitz" within Yuma County. Sunset Health and Yuma Regional Medical Center have drive-thru testing scheduled through the month of May.
Just this morning, Sunset Health tested over 300 individuals in its first day conducting drive-thru testing in the county. Tune-in at 5 p.m. for the story.

Arizona currently has 8,364 cases of coronavirus. The illness has killed 348 people across the state, including one person in Yuma County.

Governor Doug Ducey hopes to test as many as 60,000 Arizonans over the course of three weekends. Sunset Health and YRMC will host a number of drive-thru clinics through the month of May.
