Yuma County sees highest one-day spike in coronavirus cases

Health officials confirm 13 new cases

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - Yuma County Health Services District (YCHSD) confirmed 13 new cases of coronavirus Wednesday afternoon. That brings the countywide case total to 85.

Health officials are not releasing any personal details on the new patients, except to say they're recuperating in isolation. New numbers show 7 of the new patients are women, six are men. Six of the infected individuals are under age of 20-years-old. One is between 45 and 54, two others are between 55 and and 64. Four of the new patients are older than 65.

Arizona currently has 7,202 cases of coronavirus. The illness has killed 304 people across the state, including one person in Yuma County.
