Local dance studio uses dance to combat bullying

Kindness Awards given to nominated students

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY, KSWT)- With the current upswing in violent behavior at schools, bullying has become much more of an isolated incident in the school yard.

Dancemakers, a local dance group, saw an opportunity to use the tale of The Grinch to connect to what happens when you “Let Your Heart Grow”.

On December 2, 2019, Dancemakers in collaboration with Yuma School District 1, will be awarding Kindness Certificates to children, whose acts of kindness have been recognized and nominated by their teacher.

In addition to a certificate, which will be hand delivered by “The Grinch”, students will be provided with 2 complimentary tickets to attend Dancemakers production of The Grinch on December 6 of 7.

Dancemakers has a long history of community service and philanthropy.

According to their website, they are proud to have the opportunity to impact not only the lives of our students, but the lives of children within our community at large.
