(KYMA, KECY)- In the wake of COVID-19, Imperial County non-profits continue to deliver essential services and encourage participation to achieve a complete and accurate count on the 2020 Census.

More than $4.36 million has been invested in outreach for San Diego and Imperial Counties, and thousands of hours spent working over the last two years to reach up to a million residents who are considered hard-to-count.

As of April 19, 2020, the self-response rate for Imperial County is 41.3% (the State of California self-response rate is currently at 51.9%). The cities with higher self-response rates are Holtville leading with 57.4%, followed by Brawley with 48.2%, El Centro with 48%, and Calexico with 45.7%, according to 2020census.gov.
