City of Yuma names new administrator
The city of Yuma has selected its next city administrator.
Monday evening, after a special city council meeting, the city announced it’s chosen Philip Rodriguez.
Rodriguez was chosen from more than 30 candidates. He brings more than 17-years of local government experience to the position. He most recently served as city manager for the cities of Brighton, Colorado and Athens, Texas. He’s also held positions as an economic development director, and as a consultant to local government offices.
Rodriguez says he’s grateful to Mayor Doug Nicholls and the entire city council for their trust and confidence, and eager to serve the community.
Rodriguez says he isn’t the only one excited about his new position. He says, ” Me and my family are excited to make Yuma our home and are blessed to join such a great community as we build our future together. ”
Rodriguez is expected to start his new position on November 19. His initial contract lasts four-years.
