El Centro councilman behind bars
EL CENTRO, Calif. (KYMA, KSWT, FOX 9) - An El Centro councilman is behind bars.
The District Attorney's office explained that Jackson never served the 10 days he was originally sentenced to in 2017.
News 11 reported in August 2017, Jackson was sentenced to three years of formal probation and 10 days in county jail.
Jackson pled guilty to one count of animal cruelty in 2016 after his horse, Raider, was mistreated.
The City of El Centro only acknowledged the councilman's arrest.
"The City has been informed of his arrest and has no further information. The city council has no further comment," according to Liz Zarate, assistant city manager of El Centro.
