Spooky season: Fall and Halloween in the Imperial Valley
Thinking of ways to celebrate the October holidays? Here’s a list of some festive events happening in the Imperial Valley!
1. Heber Fall Fiesta
The Heber Utility District ( PUD ) is holding their fourth annual Fall Fiesta and ” Dia de los Muertos ” celebration on Saturday, October 26. The events begin with a parade down Halk Avenue, followed by the Fiesta at Tito Huerta Park located at 1165 Palm Avenue in Heber. There will be free carnival games, food, a beer garden, live entertainment, a ” Dia De Los Muertos ” altar, and a car show. There will also be a haunted maze! 2. St. Mary’s School Halloween Carnival
Everyone is invited to St. Mary’s Halloween Carnival on Halloween Night. Families can enjoy a costume contest for: cutest, scariest, group/family, and best overall. There will also be lots of arts and crafts activities, music, a haunted house, a bouncy house, a cake walk, food, drinks, and more! Join the festivities on Thursday, October 31, from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. at 795 La Brucherie Road in El Centro. For more information, call (760) 352-7285.
3. Drifters Car Club Annual ” Trunk and Treat ”
How unique is this? ” Trunk and Treat ” is Drifter’s safe alternative to door-to-door trick-or-treating on October 25, at 7 p.m. Definitely check this one out if want to combine your interests in awesome rides, treats, and a safe Halloween for the family! Come to 2520 Cottonwood Drive in El Centro.
4. Imperial Valley College Pumpkin Patch
Imperial Valley College ( IVC ) is hosting their 13th annual Pumpkin Patch! This Free family friendly event includes food vendors, games, pumpkin sales, ” pumpkin chuckin ” and more! The event begins October 26, running from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. by the IVC track. For more information, contact Michael Kanyi at (760) 355-5717.
5. Woof-O Ween 2019
The Humane Society of Imperial County presents ” Woof-O-Ween, ” a fundraiser event for the entire family and pets! There will be a costume contests, zombie zumba , a cake walk, horse rides, a bouncy house, arts and crafts, food and drinks! All pets must be friendly, on leashes, and be currently vaccinated. As it is a fundraiser, there are entry fees. Come to 504 Aten Road in Imperial. For more information, call the shelter at (760) 352-1911.
5. Dia De los Muertos Celebration
The City of El Centro is hosting its third annual Day of the Dead celebration on Saturday, October 27 , at 1 p.m. There will be music, a catrina contest, face painting, an altar, and the artist of the year exhibition. Come to Casa de la Cultura at 230 South 5th Street in El Centro.
