YUMA COUNTY, Ariz. (KYMA, NBC) - Gov. Katie Hobbs (D-Ariz.) is reacting to her reelection victory Wednesday.

Gov. Hobbs defeated Rep. Andy Biggs (R-Ariz.), a close ally of President Donald Trump, during Tuesday's midterm election.

Following her win, Hobbs spoke to her supporters, thanking them for spending hours and weekends of their lives "knocking doors making phone calls...making sure people knew what was at stake in this election and they got out and voted and most importantly, you all voted too."

Hobbs concluded her speech saying, "Let's have a great evening celebrating the culmination of all of our hard work over the last many many months and years. Thank you."

Prior to the governor's race being called, Rep. Biggs spoke to his supporters, saying he was thankful for all they have done "to support us in this incredible quest to turn this state back red and in the Republican bastion."

The governor also took to social media the day after the election saying, "Arizona, thank you for trusting me to serve you for four more years."

She, along with Lt. Govenor-Elect John Giles (I-Ariz.), are set to host a victory celebration in Phoenix Wednesday from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Mountain Standard Time.
