Twister in southeast New York swallows farmer’s tractor

JEFFERSONVILLE, N.Y. (CBS, KYMA) - A farmer was left gobsmacked after a dust devil whipped through a field in southeast New York state, footage posted earlier this week shows.

The Hilly Acres Farm, located in Jeffersonville, told Storyful that farm owner Tatiana Hahn was in her tractor when she captured the incredible moment.

"This is crazy. A mini tornado in the hay field," Hahn can be heard saying, audibly amazed.

"Holy Haynado! Well, that's something you don't see every day on the farm," the caption of the post to Instagram read. "Mother Nature put on quite the show on Friday when a massive haynado formed right in the field! It kept spinning for what felt like forever, sending hay flying high into the air and eventually into the nearby trees. Unfortunately, most of that hay is now decorating the treetops instead of staying where it belongs!"

The farm added that it was "just another day on the farm" and "you never know what you're going to see."
