IMPERIAL COUNTY, Calif. (KYMA) - Several Imperial Valley high school teams continued their postseason runs this week, while others saw their seasons come to an end in the CIF playoffs.

In volleyball, the Tigers' season ended with a 3-1 loss to Escondido Charter.

The Yellow Jackets also saw their season come to a close after falling to the Coastal Academy Stingrays in straight sets. Despite the loss, the matchup was much closer than the final score indicated, with the first set ending 25-23, followed by a 25-22 second set and a 25-20 final set.

The Scots advanced with a four-set victory over the No. 4-seeded Lions. Vincent Memorial, the No. 12 seed, will travel to face top-seeded Ocean View Christian in the next round.

In flag football, Vincent Memorial also impressed as the No. 12 seed, earning a victory over the Academy of Our Lady of Peace Pilots to advance in the CIF playoffs. The Scots will face the winner of Tuesday's matchup between top-seeded Morse and No. 9 Mission Bay.

The Vikings were unable to secure another postseason victory, falling to Patrick Henry 43-26 in their quarterfinal matchup.

Southwest's season also came to an end following a tightly contested 16-12 loss to Westview.

Meanwhile, Imperial continued its dominant postseason run with a commanding 47-0 victory over No. 3-seeded Otay Ranch. The win sends the Tigers into the next round, where they will face No. 2-seeded El Capitan on Tuesday.
